17-year-old Nishna Patel clinched victory at the Hero WPGT’s opening leg at Poona Club Golf Course with rounds of 66-71-70, finishing at 6-under 207.

Sneha Singh and Hitaashee Bakshi secured a joint runner-up position, carding matching 5-under 208.

Patel entered the final round  leading by two strokes at 5-under par. Sneha, the 2023 Order of Merit winner, started strong and dominated with five birdies in the front nine.

Despite a valiant effort by Patel, Sneha increased her lead to two shots with a sixth birdie on the 11th. The contest remained close, and with two holes to go, Sneha faltered with a bogey on the 17th. Nishna capitalized, securing a birdie on the 18th, while Sneha managed only a par. This dramatic finish granted Nishna her first pro title as an amateur, continuing the tradition of at least one amateur win annually since 2017.

Another amateur, Mannat Brar, tied for fourth with Seher Atwal, both posting an even-par 213.
