Anika Varma
16-year-old former Noida girl Anika Varma, now completing high school in Sacramento, California, notched up a highly creditable win at the 26th State Fair Women’s Championship in Sacramento, California.
Anika and her two opponents in the playoff, Victoria and Meghan, had shot matching scores of 6-under 138 over two days at Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course but Anika prevailed with a birdie on the first playoff hole.
Previously, Anika won a Junior event in Nevada, was 2nd at the California Junior State Championship and finished tied-5th at the California Women’s Amateur.
