19-year-old Anvitha Narender, originally from New Jersey and now a Bangalore resident, turned pro this June, winning in her 2nd pro start last week at Bangalore Golf Club with rounds of 69-65-68 for a remarkable seven-shot victory.
Previously, Anvitha was ranked 7th in the IGU’s Girls A category and won the IGU Rotary Karnataka Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship in 2023.
Amateur golfer Lavanya Jadon finished runner-up with scores of 69-67-73, totaling 1-under 209. Sneha Singh, currently ranked No. 2 on the Hero Women’s Rankings, shared the lead after the first round with a 69 but finished 6th after rounds of 73 and 74, totaling 6-over 216.
Several top players were absent from the tournament. Hero Women’s Ranking No. 1 Hitaashee Bakshi is currently in China to compete on China LPGA, while tour regulars and multiple winners Tvesa Malik, Ridhima Dilawari, and Vani Kapoor were participating in the Czech Ladies Open, a Ladies European Tour (LET) event.
