Asian Tour will play its first qualifier at Mt Derrimut Golf & Community Club in Victoria from September 26-29

In a much-awaited announcement, the 2024 Asian Tour Qualifying School will take place across six different venues in three countries over a period of five months starting this September.

The Asian Tour, which was on shaky ground until last year’s US$300 million infusion from the Saudi Public Investment Fund, has seen demand from players around the world skyrocket with the addition of the International Series which boasts at least 10 or 12 events with purses of US$1.5 Million.

Breaking from its traditional location in Thailand, the Asian Tour Qualifying School is expanding its reach, with the United States hosting the event for the second consecutive year and Australia making a return after a 17-year absence.

The First Stage of the Qualifying School will consist of six events, commencing ‘Down Under’ at the Mt Derrimut Golf & Community Club in Victoria from September 26th to 29th. The next stop will be the Soboba Springs Golf Club in California, scheduled to be held from November 7th to 10th.

The climax of the First Stage qualifiers will unfold simultaneously at two venues in Thailand from January 9th to 12th. The Phoenix Gold Golf Bangkok and the Grand Prix Golf Club will witness the final battles, where participants will compete fiercely for their chance to proceed to the Final Qualifying Stage in Thailand from January 16th to 20th, where the top 35 performers will earn their much-coveted cards for the 2024 Asian Tour season.

Last year, only Indian pros Kartik Sharma of Delhi & Khalin Joshi of Bangalore earned Asian Tour playing rights through the qualifiers.

Many of the Asian Tour’s most successful golfers have come through the Qualifying School, including Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee (1999) and Kiradech Aphibarnrat (2009), Australian Scott Hend (2007), and American John Catlin (2018).

Registration for the 2024 Asian Tour Qualifying School will begin on August 7, 2023. Check out asiantour.com/q-school for more information.
