20-year-old Hitaashee Bakshi finished T20 at the ISPS Handa Australian Women’s Open in Melbourne, Australia

2024 Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour of India Player of the Year, Hitaashee Bakshi from Delhi, delivered a commendable performance at the AUD $3.4 million ISPS Handa Australian Women’s Open in Melbourne, finishing T20 in a competitive field.

The mixed-gender event, held from November 28 to December 1 was played across two renowned courses—Kingston Heath Golf Club, which hosted the final two rounds, and The Victoria Golf Club. The unique format featured Men’s, Women’s, and All Abilities competitions running concurrently, with equal prize money for men and women, emphasising inclusivity and equality in the sport.

Hitaashee posted rounds of 73-71-74-78, finishing at 5-over-par. Competing alongside a world-class field, her performance marks another significant milestone in her burgeoning international career.

Mysore’s Vidhatri Urs and Bangalore’s Jasmine Shekhar were also in the playing field but ended up missing the cut.

South Korea’s Jiyai Shin clinched her second ISPS Handa Australian Open title, adding to her 2013 victory. The 36-year-old posted a stellar performance, finishing two shots ahead of the field, further cementing her legacy with over 60 global wins.
