
Avani Prashanth is third highest ranked 15-year-old in the world today
Avani Prashanth, the 15-year-old All India Ladies Champion from Bangalore, and Sukhman Singh, son of long time Indian amateur international Simarjeet Singh of Noida, will represent India at the upcoming biennial R&A Junior Open Championship for players under 16 years of age this week in Scotland.

The competition was founded in 1994 and the R&A took over its administration in 2000. A total of 112 golfers have been invited from over 54 countries this year.
The Junior Open is closely linked to The Open Championship and is played on a nearby course in the same week in July. Monifieth, which is located in Angus, is 30 minutes from St Andrews and is a links course Avani and Sukhman will, along with the other juniors, witness play at The Open, which is sure to be a memorable experience overall.
