Sneha Singh and Avani Prashanth (a) will play Stage-II in Florida in October

India’s top-ranked amateur, 17-year-old Avani Prashanth, who is looking to join the professional ranks soon, played solid golf at Stage 1 of the LPGA Qualifiers in California last week with rounds of 69-71-74-68 (6-under 282) to comfortably go through to Stage 2 of the qualifying, to be held in Florida this October.

Similarly, 20-year-old Sneha Singh, the 2023 Hero Women’s Golf Rankings champion from Hyderabad, carded rounds of 74-72-72-71 (1-over 289) to also just get through to Stage 2.

Unfortunately, two other Indian players, Nikita Arjun, the Bangalore-born and US-based pro, and Drishti Karumbaya, from Mysore, both could not qualify for Stage 2.

Stage 2 of the LPGA Q-Series will take place from October 15-18, from where the top 80 players will advance to the 6-round (108-hole) Final Qualifying event to be held from December 5-9 in Alabama. The top 25 finishers at Final Qualifying will earn full LPGA Tour status for the 2025 season, while those finishing 26-45 and ties will receive conditional LPGA and Epson Tour status. Players outside the top 45 will gain partial Epson Tour status for the upcoming season.

The Indian girls now return home to play some domestic and Asian events before returning to the USA for Stage 2.
