The winners of the AVT Champions Tour 2024 at the famed Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC) in Mumbai

The AVT Champions Tour was played at the prestigious Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC) in Mumbai for the first time since the Tour’s inception in 2019. The two-day series of events brings together  the best senior golfers aged 50 and above from all over India for serious competitive golf. This tour was conceptualised and is supported by one of the country’s most ardent supporters of golf, Mr. Dilip Thomas; a key figure in Indian and world golf for the past 30 years plus.

Played over 36 holes of strokeplay in gross format in five age categories (50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70+), the tour is a pivotal initiative to build a robust platform for senior golfers, and the 2024 edition was no exception.

Jaideep Bhattacharya from Mumbai was a surprise third-place finisher with a total score of 150.

The event also featured legendary golfers such as double Asian Games gold medallist Bunny Lakshman Singh from Kolkata, recently crowned Asia Pacific Seniors over-70 champion Gangesh Khaitan from Delhi, and three-time former All India Men’s Amateur winner Alan Singh from Jamshedpur. Former professional-golfer-turned-amateur Monish Bindra and Mumbai-based Shivas Nath also competed.
