The AVT Champions Tour, a gross stroke play tournament series, for amateur golfers age 50 and over, was held at KGA Bangalore, and saw a tight finish among strong scores as former India international David D’Souza emerged victorious after shooting a final day 69 which included a hole-in-one on the short 4th hole, which propelled him to victory.
KGA’s Venkatesh Prabhu also carded a final day 69, to finish runner-up on countback from six-time AVT winner Sandeep Sandhu of Chandigarh.
The Team Gross winners were the home team Bangalore, featuring David D’Souza, Sanjai Singh, Sumit Rathore, and Jehangir Tankariwala ahead of the Chandigarh team, consisting of Sandeep Singh Sandhu, Jaspreet Bakshi, Col. Kuldip Singh Sandhu and Kush Sama.
