The Young Master Amateur Golf Tour held its second event, the Young Master Gurgaon Championship with 40 players – 26 boys and 14 girls at the Classic Golf & Country Club, Gurgaon. Players aged 10 to 19 included some from Bangalore and Chandigarh.
On the first day, eight of the 14 female golfers and 13 out of the 27 male golfers broke 80. Ayaan Gupta, Parteet S. Sekhon and Lavanya Jadon led the way with 73, while Palaksi Singh shot 74.
Gupta continued his steady golf with a second round 74 to take the lead by five shots in the boy’s event while Dahhiya shot a one-under 71 to take control of the girl’s event.
In the final round, Gupta played solidly for his 75 but Vedant Sirohi forced a playoff with a tournament-best round of 2-under 70. However, Gupta would go on to win the event in extra holes.
Dahiya stumbled on the final day, shooting 78 but still won by five shots from Ragini Navet.
