35-year-old Gaganjeet Bhullar, a 10-time winner on the Asian Tour, recorded his best finish of the year – tied-5th at the US$ 1.5mn St. Andrews Bay Championship – a lucrative international Series event on the Asian Tour, staged in Scotland which earned him a cheque of US$ 74,300 (Rs 61 lacs).
Following him was Ajeetesh Sandhu who tied-8th, his first top-10 finish of the season so far.
Anirban Lahiri, who has been consistent in the International Series events with a runners-up finish in Vietnam and a third in England, finished tied-14th. Anirban ranks 40th in the current Olympic Men’s rankings and Shubhankar lies at 51st which virtually guarantees them starts in Paris 2024.
