Gaganjeet Bhullar got off to a fast start with opening rounds of 70-67 but fell back on the weekend with 74-74 to finish tied-72nd on 3-under 285 at the US$ 2mn Ras Al Khaimah Classic at Al Hamra Golf Club in UAE. This was Bhullar’s first tournament of the season as he had taken a break from the tour in January
The 33-year-old Bhullar, who has won once on the DP World Tour has partial playing rights for the European Tour season. He will now head to Kenya for the US$1.8 mn Magical Kenya Open from March 3-6.
Arjun Gupta, a 17-year-old Abu Dhabi-based Indian golfer shot 72-73 (1-over 145) to miss the cut. Gupta represented India at the 2021 Asia Pacific Amateur Championship in Dubai. He won the 2020 Abu Dhabi Amateur Championship, which earned him a start at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in 2021.
