The sixth edition of The Quadrangular Cup was hosted by Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC) from November 11-13. The two-day event is played between four of the oldest , largest, and most prestigious golf clubs of the country—Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC), Delhi Golf Club (DGC), Karnataka Golf Association (KGA), and Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC).
The Quadrangular Cup epitomises the balance between fierce competition and enduring camaraderie among the clubs. The 2024 edition was no exception, hosted by BPGC in Mumbai under near-perfect playing conditions, which concluded with an emphatic victory for the hosts, BPGC, in both the Main and Fellowship categories.
Format of the Competition
The tournament featured 96 elite golfers—24 from each club—competing in two categories: the Main Category and the Fellowship Category.
Day 1: Fourball Gross Strokeplay and Nett Stableford
- Main Team: Scores were based on Better Ball Gross Strokeplay, where the best gross score on each hole was counted for the pair.
- Fellowship Team: Played Nett Stableford, emphasizing individual net scores but applying strict rules to prevent given putts unless reaching Nett double bogey or worse.
- The best 5 out of 6 scores from each team were considered for the team’s total.
Day 2: Singles Gross Strokeplay and Nett Stableford
- Main Team: Individual scores in Gross Strokeplay determined the team standings.
- Fellowship Team: Continued with Nett Stableford, encouraging steady, strategic play.
- The best 10 out of 12 scores from each team were counted towards the final tally.
After two days of exhilarating golf, BPGC emerged as champions in both categories for a rewarding victory on home turf.
