Nearly 100 corporate golfers teed off in cool misty weather as the Chola WCGC- India held its first regional round at Prestige Golfshire in Blore. Four golfers, the winners and runners up in two handicap categories, qualified for the national final to be held in Thailand in April 2023. This round will be followed by Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi and ultimately 16 finalists will compete for two spots to represent corporate India at the World Final to be held in Europe in summer 2023.
India’s top ranked lady amateur, 16 yr old Avani Prashanth, who is supported by Cholamandalam Finance, played a “Beat the Pro’ contest with every fourball. The participants were in awe of the 260 yard drives she consistently hit down the middle – the youngster made a huge impression and was on hand to give away the prizes.
