The 2025 Club Golf League season is in high gear across Bangalore, Kolkata, and Lucknow, with each city hosting its premier Team League Championship event. With hundreds of amateur golfers competing and packed schedules leading up to knockout rounds and finals, these leagues continue to grow in stature, attracting players and spectators alike.
Bangalore – KGA Premier League (KPL) 2025
The sixth edition of the Karnataka Golf Association’s (KGA) flagship event, the KGA Premier League (KPL), commenced following the KPL Auction on January 13. Team Owners and Captains selected players for their squads, setting the stage for the matches that began on February 6.
The league features 24 teams and 432 participants, making it one of the largest amateur golf leagues in the region. Two new additions aim to enhance engagement:
The Fellowship Round – A mini-KPL format to sustain competitive spirit and camaraderie among players.
KPL Dream Team – A fan-driven initiative where viewers can select and vote for their ideal team using the KGA app.
The competition is in full flow as league teams battle for supremacy in this premier amateur golf event.
Kolkata – Royal Premier Golf League (RPGL) 2025
At the Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC), the 10th edition of the Royal Premier Golf League (RPGL) has been underway since January 3. As the first club golf league in India, RPGL has paved the way for similar leagues in cities such as Bangalore, Pune, and Mumbai. It is regarded as the world’s largest single-venue amateur golf league and has grown into a marquee event within Kolkata’s golfing culture.
This year’s edition has seen 18 teams and over 400 players competing in a league-cum-knockout format. More than 5,000 HNIs and their families have been engaged in the event, following the action closely.
The tournament format includes a round-robin stage where the top-four ranked teams qualify for the quarterfinals. The knockout rounds—including the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final—will determine this year’s champion.
The final three league matches are set to take place this weekend, leading into the quarterfinals scheduled for February 28. Currently, the standings are tightly contested:
Green (B) Division: RSH Blasters and PB Aces are tied for first place with 57 points.
Red (A) Division: Flying Tiger and Keventer Eagle Eye lead with 64 points.
With high stakes and close margins, the upcoming matches will be crucial in deciding the top four teams advancing to the knockout rounds.
Lucknow – Lucknow Golf League (LGL) 2025
The Lucknow Golf League (LGL) 2025 has brought together golf enthusiasts, members, and sponsors at the Lucknow Golf Club, aiming to foster talent, camaraderie, and community engagement through competitive golf.
Featuring 12 teams divided into Group A and Group B, each with approximately 12 players, the tournament follows a Match Play format that emphasises strategy and aggressive shot-making. This structure enhances the competitive intensity, keeping both players and spectators engaged.
The league reaches its conclusion this weekend, with two crucial matchups slated for February 23:
Ramswaroop Tigers vs. Speed Chargers
Amazing Origins vs. Fairway Tigers
As the final rounds unfold, teams will battle for the coveted title of Lucknow Golf League 2025 Champions.
A Thriving Golfing Ecosystem
