Competition was fierce as Modern Barakhamba won the tournament with a score of 880 from St Columbaâs who were 2nd on 882 while DPS Mathura Road was 3rd on 884. Â
The Format was : Total of 13 Scores counted out of 16 players : 3 best gross scores and 10 best net scores based on handicaps being adjusted on the Double Peoria system.Â
What might give current junior golf a boost is if these schools include an inter-school division open only for teams of current students which will give our young golfers better recognition at the school level.Â
A similar tournament has been played for the past several years in Delhi between boarding schools including The Doon School (Dehradun), Mayo College ( Ajmer), The Lawrence School Sanawar ( Shimla) and the Scindia School ( Gwalior) .Â
This is a welcome initiative which we hope to see replicated in other Indian cities as well.Â
