Shubham Jaglan registers his best result of the season in Georgia

Shubham Jaglan from Delhi Golf Club, a third-year student attending the University of South Florida on a college golf scholarship, secured a creditable 2nd place finish with rounds of 66-68-70-67 at the Dogwood Invitational, an invitation-only amateur tournament in Georgia.

Jaglan has decided to stay in USA this summer and play as many amateur tournaments as possible to prepare for his final year of college golf.

Jaglan added, “Just played my first event of the summer and finished T-2. This was the Dogwood Invitational, a really good amateur event here in Georgia. Past players include Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka.”

The Dogwood Invitational carried a weightage of 450 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking compared to 640 for the Asian Amateur Championship, the most prestigious international amateur tournament in the Asia Pacific region.

Jaglan has participated in 10 collegiate amateur events in 2024, with his best finish being 3rd at the Thomas Sharkey Individual in February. With Indian boys failing to make a mark on the international amateur scene, we hope India’s amateurs playing college golf in USA can make strides during the summer tournament season of 2024.
