Diksha Dagar overcame her first round struggle to finish 26th in Finland
22-year-old Diksha Dagar, who last week won the Czech Open on the Ladies European Tour, continued her solid run this season, finishing at -3 ( tied 26th) while Pranavi Urs finished at -2 for tied 32nd position at the US$ 320,000 Ladies Open presented by Pickala Golf in Finland.
On the rain-affected opening day, Diksha began with a round of 74 and was compelled to complete her remaining six holes on the following day. However, she made a remarkable comeback during her second round, shooting an outstanding 5-under 31 on the front nine, including five birdies. Bad weather during Rd 3 again caused play to stop and the girls had to struggle with high winds, wet and cold conditions.
Last week, Diksha had dominated in the Czech Republic at the Royal Beroun Golf Club, outside Prague, finishing four strokes ahead of the competition.
Delhi’s Vani Kapoor secured 56th at 2-over 218 while during the second round, Tvesa Malik aced the 170-yard par-3 third hole but missed the cut by two strokes, having shot 74-73 (3-over 147).
Other Indians who missed the cut line set at 1-over 145 included –
Ridhima Dilawari – 73-75 (+4)
Amandeep Drall – 73-77 (+6)
Seher Atwal – 78-72 (+6)
The tour will now head to England to play the US$ 1mn Aramco Team Series London from July 14-16.
