22-year-old Diksha Dagar who won the Czech Open on the Ladies European Tour in June, shot 70-71-72 (3-under 213) continued her solid run of form in the last few weeks to finish 16th in the US$ 1.2mn La Sella Open in Spain.
Dagar has made ten consecutive cuts in Europe since late March posting one win, one top-3 and two more top-10s and has put herself in the reckoning for an automatic berth in the Paris Olympics 2024.
All four Indian pros in the event last week made the cut, which is quite a rare feat. Amandeep Drall from Chandigarh was 35th; Gurgaon’s Vani Kapoor finished 59th and Delhi’s Ridhima Dilawari, who celebrated her 25th birthday on Saturday, finished 71st.
This week Dagar, thanks to being currently ranked 5th on the LET, will join Aditi in the US$ 6.5mn Evian Championship in France, the fourth major on the women’s golf schedule, which sees all the world’s top ranked players from both sides of the Atlantic.
