For the first time ever, the European Senior Tour (Staysure Tour) has announced a US$500,000 event for players aged 50 and over this September at Jaypee Greens in Greater Noida, outside Delhi. The inaugural India Legends Championship hosted by Jeev Milkha Singh, will take place from August 30 to September 1 at the Greg Norman designed championship course, featuring around 100 International players with eight spots being reserved for Indian professionals over the age of 50.
Indian pros Jeev Milkha Singh and Jyoti Randhawa have been seen in action on the Legends Tour while Arjun Atwal has been competing on the Champions Tour in America.
The Legends Tour features 20 events with 18 Million Euro total prize pool and visits countries such as Zambia, Kenya, Mexico and Vietnam.
The Legends Tour features such big names as Spain’s cigar smoking Miguel Angel Jimenez, Ryder Cuppers Darren Clarke, Thomas Bjorn and others. It remains to be seen who all make the trip to Delhi where the heat and humidity will be at its peak giving the Indian players an edge over the Europeans.
