Fresh off a win at Delhi Golf Club (DGC) this month, 36-year-old Ajeetesh Sandhu of Chandigarh earned his place on the Asian Tour for the 2025 season at the Final Stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying Tournament in Hua Hin, Thailand, from December 17-21.
With the top 35 players and ties eligible for full playing rights in the 2025 season, Sandhu recorded a final-round one-over-par to conclude the tournament at the 27th spot and secure a place on tour next year, despite a tame final round that was dampened with consecutive bogeys on the last two holes.
Joining Sandhu, Kolkata’s veteran golfer and 2018 Panasonic Open winner Rahil Gangjee secured full playing rights by finishing third in the Asian Development Tour (ADT) Rankings. Additionally, Gaganjeet Bhullar, an 11-time Asian Tour winner, and Chandigarh’s Yuvraj Singh Sandhu, who won his first ADT title last year, retained their cards by finishing 49th and 57th respectively making sure they were among the top 60 in the 2024 Asian Tour Rankings.
Other Indian golfers who made the cut but did not secure their cards include:
Arjun Sharma (74th), Karandeep Kochhar (81st), Chikkarangappa S. (88th), Pukhraj Singh Gill (91st), Rashid Khan (95th), Aryan Roopa Anand (107th), and Anshul Kabthiyal (136th).
The 2025 Asian Tour season kicks off with the Philippine Open from January 23-26, followed by the highly-anticipated US$2 million International Series India at the DLF Golf and Country Club from January 30 to February 2.
