26-year-old Manu Gandas of Gurgaon, who earned his playing rights on the European Tour by virtue of leading the 2022 PGTI rankings, put together four solid rounds of 71-69-70-68 to finish 28th at the US$ 2mn Thailand Classic at Amata Springs CC in Bangkok after missing cuts at the first two events he played on the European Tour in Singapore & Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
This will be a welcome confidence booster for Gandas with the Hero Indian Open this week on his home course.
Gandas’s splendid 2022 PGTI season saw him win a record six times and finish in the top-10 another seven times, on his way to earning a record ₹88 lakhs.
Thorbjorn Olesen of Denmark shot 67-67-64-66 (24-under 264) to win the tournament by four-strokes over Paul Yannik of Germany 65-69-66-68 (20-under 268).
Fans can look forward to watching Gandas and other top Indians this week at the US$ 2mn Hero Indian Open from Feb. 23-26 at DLF Golf & CC in Gurgaon.
