Pro Golf – Japan Golf Tour
42-year-old former winner on the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO), Rahil Gangjee ran into stormy weather and shot 73-79 (+10) to miss the cut for only the 2nd time in 8 weeks, at the US$ 1.3mn JGTO event in Ibaraki, Japan.
The horrendous rainy conditions lead to a shocking 67 players shooting five-over or more on the second day.
Talking about his tough luck on the course, Rahil said, “We played in rain and winds upto 20 kmph . It rained the whole day . Since the course is on a hill , no water gathered . It was impossible to keep towels and grips dry. I just walked the whole day in my rain gear and rain cap.”
Gangjee will now head to Nishigo to play the US$ 450,000 Dunlop Srixon Fukushima Open from June 24-27.
