Gaurika Bishnoi of Gurgaon secured her 8th pro victory on the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (Hero WPGT) by a three-shot margin with a total score of 1-under 210 at the Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club in Mysuru, Karnataka, shooting rounds of 73, 70, and 66.
Entering the final round tied for 3rd, she birdied the last three holes to clinch her first win of the season. Her last win came in June 2023 at Clover Greens near Bangalore, but she has been in fine form recently, securing runner-up finishes in the last two events on the tour held at Golden Greens GC and DLF Golf & Country Club, both in Gurgaon.
Gaurika recently underwent swing changes just a week before the tournament and quickly adapted to the transition. She added, “I was working on some swing changes at that point of time after meeting my coach a week before the tournament, it just seemed like the changes settled in really well by the tournament week. That week was definitely one where I felt so extremely focused on my game that I didn’t quite see what others were doing, so I didn’t feel any pressure during the end stretch, I just wanted to finish strong and the win was a result of that.”
In October 2023, Gaurika had placed 8th at the US$400,000 Hero Women’s Indian Open on the Ladies European Tour at DLF Golf & Country Club, Gurgaon.
