24-year-old Gaurika Bishnoi shot 71-69 (4-under 140) in the rain-shortened Hero WPGT event played last week at DLF Golf & CC in Gurgaon.
Hero WPGT usually plays 54-hole events but heavy rainfall ensured that the tournament could not complete the final round. Pranavi Urs of Mysore, the No.1 player on the Hero Order of Merit shot 71-75 to be in 2nd place at 146 along with Nayanika Sanga.
Sneha Singh of Hyderabad shot 77-74 (7-over 151) to finish fourth, followed by Oviya Reddi who finished fifth at 75-78 (9-over 153).
A total of 32 players had enlisted for the event and 21 players were able to make the cut set at 20-over 164.
The tour culminates its 2022 season after 14 domestic events, with the US$400,000 Hero Women’s Indian Open in mid October, the big test for the Indian contingent. Preceding that, the Ladies European Tour qualifying tournament will take place for the first time in Asia at ITC Classic Golf Resort, Gurgaon, just 30 minutes away from DLF G&CC.
