22-year-old Diksha Dagar, who finished an amazing 3rd in the 2023 LET season ending rankings, missed a top 45 place finish in the LPGA Qualifier by a heartbreaking one stroke in Alabama, USA.
Diksha scored 72-70-64-68-75-74 in the gruelling 6 round qualifying event to end 51st position with a last-hole bogey that deprived her of full playing rights on the 2024 LPGA Tour.
However her tied-51st finish ensures Diksha Dagar a full Category C status on the LPGA”s 2nd rung Epson Tour, granting her access to every tournament aligned with the Priority List on the Epson Tour schedule for the upcoming season.
Category C is the third highest category on the Epson Tour’s Priority List and the only players who will be able to advance above that Category are Tournament Winners. They will be reshuffled into Category B.
Diksha required a par on her last hole to secure a position within the top 45 and ties, thereby earning LPGA status. Unfortunately, a bogey on the final hole resulted in her falling just short of the 108-hole cut at 8-under par, concluding her performance at 7-under 423.
Diksha will likely play the LET full time again in 2024 and starting in 2025, the lucrative US LPGA Tour plans to award full playing rights to the top 5 players from Europe based on the season-ending rankings.
