The Hero Indian Open, a staple event on the DP World Tour, will return to India from March 27-30, 2025, with a prize fund of $2.25 million matching that of the 2024 edition. As one of the most decorated events in Indian golf, Hero MotoCorp will continue its 17th year of title sponsorship, underscoring its longstanding commitment to the event since 2005.
S.K. Sharma, Chairman of the Organising Committee, shared his enthusiasm, saying, “We are very pleased to receive the continued patronage of title sponsors Hero MotoCorp consecutively for the 17th edition. The tournament has only grown over the years and it will be the last stop of the Asian Swing on the DP World Tour this time too. Some of the world’s best men’s professionals, not just Europe, will be vying for top honours this time as well along with the cream of Indian golf.”
The tournament is “most likely to be hosted at the pristine Gary Player-designed DLF Golf & Country Club,” Sharma added, praising the course’s global reputation for challenging layouts and firm greens that demand unprecedented skill from a world-class playing field.
Japan’s Keita Nakajima, the 2024 champion who secured his maiden DP World Tour win as a rookie last year, is expected to defend his title. Last year’s standout T2 finish by PGTI’s No. 1 ranked Veer Ahlawat, his best performance on the DP World Tour, sustains the hope of having an Indian winner lift the trophy after a long wait of 8 years, since S.S.P Chawrasia’s win in 2017.
