Improved scoring as a result of reasonable green speeds was the most notable aspect of the tournament on the tough Gary Player-designed DLF Golf & CC course last week.
64 players shot 1 under par or better in round one, compared to just 36 in 2023.
The 36-hole cut set at 1-under par, was also the lowest with 72 players at or tied at that score. In 2023, only 23 players were under par after 36 holes.
36-hole cut at DLF Golf & CC –
2023 – 4-over par
(No event was held from 2020 to 2022 due to Pandemic)
2019 – 2-over par
2018 – 3-over
2017 – 5-over
Pin positions were toughened up on the final day which saw only 24 players shoot below par compared to the opening rounds and 31 sub par scores on Day 3.
Remarkably, Espen Kofstad of Norway shot a ten-under par 62 in Round 2 to set a new course scoring record.
