Diksha Dagar, who has secured victory on the LET this season, is undeniably a top contender to clinch the title in Gurgaon

As one of the highlights of the Indian golf calendar – the US$400,000 Hero Women’s Indian Open tees off this week at the DLF GC in Gurgaon , the biggest draw for home fans is young Diksha Dagar, who is enjoying a breakout year on the Ladies European Tour (LET). Dagar has won once and finished in the top-10 an amazing seven times in 23 events so far this season. She is currently ranked fourth in the LET rankings, two spots ahead of India’s highest ranked player Aditi Ashok, who has also won on the LET this season but who plays primarily on the LPGA Tour and so will not be seen in action this week.

Dagar will have plenty of competition – three of the other top five ranked LET players are also in the fray including Ana Pelaez Trivino of Spain, Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab, as well as three former champions – Christine Wolf (2019), Becky Morgan (2018), and Camille Chevalier (2017).
