In a season where consistency has been her hallmark, Delhi’s Hitaashee Bakshi secured her third title of the year at the 14th Leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (WPGT), held at the Vooty Golf Club in Vikarabad. With this win, the 20-year-old extended her lead atop the Women’s Golf Association of India (WGAI) rankings, virtually guaranteeing herself the title of this year’s No. 1 player.
Hitaashee delivered a composed performance, finishing with rounds of 67-70-71 for a tournament total of 8-under 208, comfortably outpacing runner-up Vidhatri Urs by four strokes. Vidhatri, who carded a final-round 69 for a 4-under total of 212, showed grit but couldn’t close the gap on Hitaashee, who had a commanding six-shot lead going into the final round. Shweta Mansingh finished third at 3-over 219.
This last domestic stretch of the season comes as a good preparation stint for Hitaashee, who is slated to play in the final Stage of the Ladies European Tour Qualifying tournament in Morocco, along with Vani Kapoor, while Sneha Singh and Vidhatri Urs will play in a pre-qualifier before the final stage. Reflecting on her victory, Hitaashee said, “This season has been about building momentum, and this win feels like a culmination of consistent effort. I’m pleased with how I’ve performed leading up to the LET Q-School, and I hope to carry this form internationally.”
With this victory, Hitaashee has cemented her place atop the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour rankings with earnings of ₹15,79,500, over ₹3 lakh ahead of second-placed Sneha Singh.
