In an attempt to revitalise the National Golf Academy of India (NGAI), the program responsible for training and accrediting golf coaches in India, the Indian Golf Union (IGU), has announced two appointments.
Top coaches Indrajit Bhalotia of Kolkata and Anitya Chand of Gurgaon have been named Head of Training and Head of Education, respectively.
Indrajit Bhalotia is to collaborate with the teaching staff to certify and develop coaches across the region while Anitya Chand is to oversee the enhancement of the NGAI Teaching System and work closely with a global organisation known as the Confederation of Professional Golf (CPG) to implement global training standards in India.

It is hoped that these moves will lead to improved knowledge and expertise among golf coaches in India since standards and use of technology has changed the way golf is taught around the world and particularly as the quality of players in India has fallen increasingly behind the accelerated pace of development in other countries around the world and even in neighbouring countries like Thailand.
