Team Swinging Shers at the inaugural Qutab Golf League

The latest in the series of club-based leagues, the Qutab Golf League in Delhi clocked in its inaugural round on January 4 at the DDA’s Qutab Golf Course. 

The league features 10 teams of 16 players each. Over three rounds, teams compete under a modified Stableford system. In the first two rounds, the best nine scores from each team’s 12 players contribute to the daily team score, while all 12 scores will count on the final day.

The league got a boost with a stunning Hole-In-One on the 124-yard par-3 10th hole by teenager Pritish Singh Karayat who also secured the prize for the Overall Best Individual Stableford score. Shat Mishra (Swinging Shers) and Ranveer Mitroo (Victorious Choice) tied for 2nd. 

Individual Prize Winners:

  • Overall Winner: Pritish Singh Karayat (Casual Gurus) – 40 points
  • Ladies Winner: Alysha Dutt (Nuts for Us) – 37 points
  • Junior Winner: Chaitanya Pandey (Ishum Eagles) – 40 points
  • Senior Winner: Col. Ashok Prehar (Nuts for Us) – 35 points
  • Armed Forces Winner: Col. Irshanjit Kohli (Mighty Pathaans) – 37 points
  • Government Winner: Ravinder Yadav (Ishum Eagles) – 35 points

Skills Prizes:

  • Furthest from the Line: Arjun Talwar (Nuts for Us) – Hole 1
  • Longest Putt Holed: Ajay Bisht (Victorious Choice) – Hole 7
  • Straightest Drive: Rajeev Kapoor (Victorious Choice) – Hole 12
  • Closest to the Pin (3rd Shot): Aryaveer Khoda (Mighty Pathaans) – Hole 16

To build on the caliber and skill being showcased in the uniquely constructed Qutab Golf League, a Master Class is scheduled for January 15, where husband-wife duo, Asian Tour winner Ajeetesh Sandhu and Sunshine Tour winner Tvesa Malik, will share their insights and expertise. 

With Rs 20 lacs in prize money, including Rs 12 lacs for the winning team, the 2nd round of the 3-day league will be held on February 1, while the grand finale is tentatively slated for March 1. The opening round has set a high bar for what lies ahead and the league promises intense competition as teams vie for the title of Qutab Golf League Champion.
