Indian-American Gurleen Kaur secures spot in the final stage of the LPGA Q-Series

Indian golfers Sneha Singh and Avani Prashanth faced a challenging week at the LPGA Qualifying Series stage 2 in Florida, where both failed to qualify for the Final Stage. The two rising stars skipped the Hero Women’s Indian Open, prioritizing the qualifier for an LPGA Tour card, yet unfortunately came up short.

Sneha, who held the top spot on the 2023 domestic Order of Merit, recorded rounds of 73-72-73-78, finishing at 8-over-par, T144. Her compatriot, Avani, posted rounds of 80-74-72-72, ending at 10-over-par, T167. Despite their determined play at the Plantation Golf and Country Club, the competition proved steep, with both falling outside the qualifying mark.

However, there was a silver lining for Indian-American golfer Gurleen Kaur, a first-generation player who had a modest rookie season on the LPGA Tour. Kaur’s performance at the Qualifying-Series earned her a spot in the Final Stage, keeping her LPGA hopes alive as she vies to regain her place on the Tour.

The Final Stage will take place later this year, from December 5-9, at the Magnolia Grove Golf Club (Crossings and Falls courses) in Alabama.
