Sneha Sharan registers first top-5 finish of the season

Sneha Sharan, a 21-year-old from Bangalore and a final-year student at Sacramento State University in California, posted rounds of 70-69-72,for a tied-5th finish at 1-over 211 at a college tournament.

Sharan’s 2023-24 season was equally impressive. She earned the Big Sky Player of the Year title and a first-team All-Big Sky selection. Her 73.15 scoring average across 11 tournaments was the second-lowest in her college’s history. Sharan had one victory and a 4th place plus four top-10 finishes.

Interestingly, Sacramento State has seen the contributions of two other Indian golfers in recent years: the talented sister duo, Nishtha and Astha Madan. Nishtha competed for two seasons on the Epson Tour, a secondary professional circuit in the USA. Meanwhile, her elder sister Astha currently plays on the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (Hero WPGT) and serves as a coach at Hamoni Golf Camp in Gurgaon, furthering her commitment to the sport.
