Jahanvi Prakhya & Zara Anand will be joined by Nishna Patel in the Netherlands

Three Indian girls, Zara Anand of Delhi, Jahanvi Prakhya who plays at University of Northern Alabama in the US & Mumbai’s Nishna Patel, who recently finished 2nd in the Asia Pacific Junior Girls in Philippines, have been invited by the organisers of the Dutch Junior Open on an all expense paid trip for the OK Junior Open this week. The tournament, open to boys and girls under age 21, will be hosted at the historic Toxandria Golf Club which is rated as one of the top 10 best courses in the Netherlands. The three girls will compete individually and in the team event under the India banner.

Unfortunately no Indian boys were able to travel for the event.

The Dutch Junior Open has been played at Toxandria since 1984. Many US PGA, European as well as Asian Tour professionals have participated in this tournament. 2016 Masters champion Danny Willet competed in the Dutch Junior Open in 2006. Thailand’s Atthaya Thittikul, who was briefly the World No. 1 in 2022, won the girls event at Toxandria in 2017 became the LPGA number one in 2022.

Martin Kaymer, Thomas Bjorn, Nicolas Colsaerts, Thomas Pieters, Thomas Detry, Joost Luiten, Francesco Laporta, Thipada Suwannapura, Anne van Dam, Lauren Taylor and many, many more, all having played here, proof that this tournament is a real stepping stone for many a professional career.
