The Asian Tour is all set to resume this week after a break of 18 months with the US$ 1mn Blue Canyon Championship on November 25-28 at the Blue Canyon CC in Phuket, Thailand.

Indian stars entered to participate include Shiv Kapur, Aman Raj, Ajeetesh Sandhu, Rashid Khan, Chikkarangappa S., SSP Chawrasia, Jeev Milkha Singh, Honey Baisoya,  Udayan Mane, Khalin Joshi, Aadil Bedi, Karandeep Kocchar & Veer Ahlawat.

In January, following the Christmas and New Year breaks, the Tour is planning to stage two more tournaments in Singapore over consecutive weeks. All four tournaments will be broadcast live on television with further details to be announced soon.

This is a positive step for professionals in South East Asia who faced survival difficulties with their livelihood of professional tournaments cut off for almost two years given the quarantine and other travel restrictions in place.

The Asian Tour however is looking at making a strong revival in 2022 with the recent announcement of a US$200 million investment over the next 10 years from Greg Norman headed, LIV Investments of Saudi Arabia. This bodes well for Indian and other Asian professional players as it means the addition of at least 10 new US$ 1 million events each season.
