Both players birdied the first two playoff holes but on the third extra hole Uihlein found water with his shot from a greenside bunker that rolled over the green. Koepka calmly made another birdie to seal the title, cashing in US$ 4mn in prize money for the individual title and US$ 750,000 for the team event.

European Tour: Shubhankar misses  in Spain

Shubhankar Sharma’s season has only 4 events left for the season

Shubhankar Sharma shot 78-74 to miss the cut at the famous Club Valderrama in Spain as he has struggled to find form in the latter half of the year after a very promising start to the 2022 season.

Sharma is currently at  47th on the DP World Tour Rankings, where the top-50 players are guaranteed a spot in the season ending DP World Tour championship in Dubai and has three more events to ensure his spot at the lucrative event is secured.

Sharma has had some trouble with the driver and is trying out a new club this week. The green speeds at Valderrama were at 12.5 making it all the more challenging.

The event was won by Spain’s Adrian Otaegui, one of the European players who has chosen to Play with LIV GOLF and who posted a four-round total of 19-under 265 to win by a huge margin of six shots from Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren, who finished on 13-under.
