Three Indians, Pranavi Urs of Mysore and US based pros Nikita Arjun and Sharmila Nicollete have all entered the LPGA Q-School Stage-I starting Aug. 18-21 in California.
Stage-I will feature over 313 players competing for the top-95 spots and ties to advance to Stage-II scheduled for Oct. 18-21 in Florida.
The top 30 and ties from the Stage-II in Florida get into the final stage of Qualifying in December, which consists of a new two-week tournament. However all those who get into Stage 2 will earn playing rights on the Epson Tour, the development tour for the LPGA.
In 2021, Urs entered the Ladies European Tour’s (LET) Q-School in La Manga, Spain, where she was inside the cut line in the pre-qualifiers, until a triple bogey on the 14th in the final round knocked her out of contention. That year Nicollete needed to play the last four holes in one-under to sneak in on the line. But she couldn’t overcome a dropped shot on the 15th and a closing birdie on the 18th left her one stroke short of going through.
Nikita Arjun, the 28-year-old from Bangalore who has been playing on the Women’s All Pro Tour (WAPT) and the Cactus Tour, has also entered the pre-qualifying tournament.
