It’s May and with annual school exams being over, summer holidays are on for junior golfers across India. While the top national players are busy playing the national amateur circuit events, other golfers can take time to learn the basics or take their game to a higher level. 

Bangalore : Tarun Sardesai Golf Academy – Zion Hills

Tarun Sardesai, who for many years now, has been running India’s only full time residential coaching programs year round in India, offers 14-day residential summer camps at any time between April and July  at Zion Hills, in Kolar, about an hour drive outside of Bangalore. This program is tailored for advanced competitive junior golfers aged 12-18.

Bangalore – Clover Greens

Four 10 day camps were offered  – two in April and two in May for various skill levels and open to ages 8 to 18 years with coaches from the TSG Academy system. Charges were Rs 10,000 each;

Hyderabad – Boulder Hills

The Boulders Hills Junior Program runs during April and May 2024. This camp attracts new juniors across different age groups.

The  camp comprises eight sessions designed to provide comprehensive training in the basic fundamentals of Putting, short Game, and golf fitness. Additionally, participants are introduced to the golf course .

This initiative is a collaborative effort between BHGC (Boulders Hills Golf Club) and Brandon D’Souza. 

The program is conducted by certified Golf Coaches recognized by the Indian Golf Union – National Golf Academy of India (IGU-NGAI). The coaching team comprises. Amit Khaitan and Sanjay Kumar Singh, both Class A certified coaches. Notably, Sanjay Singh was recently promoted as Assistant Teaching Staff by the NGAI and is the father of 18 year old Sneha Singh, the Hero Women’s Pro Tour #1 ranked player in 2023.

Chennai – TNGF Cosmopolitan Club 

The club-run junior program offers a structured platform and operates year-round, providing sessions twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm for youngsters under 18 years of age and is open to members and non-members children.

Cost: Monthly fee is 2500, making it affordable and inclusive for interested participants.

Kolkata – Fort William, Bengal Golf Association

The Fort William Environmental Park & Training Area (FWEPTA) run by the Indian Army in Kolkata is holding a summer golf camp from May 18-26 for juniors aged between 4 and 16.

Kolkata – Tollygunge Club

Four day camps open to juniors aged between 6 and 18 for different skill levels and ages. Scheduled to run from May 21 to June 14, participants have the flexibility to opt for one camp or immerse themselves in all four camps, depending on their individual interests and availability.
