14-year-old Kartik Singh, shot a record breaking 16-under 272 with scores of 73-65-68-66 to emerge winner with a massive 11-stroke margin at the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Gujarat State Boys Championship at the demanding Jack Nicklaus signature designed, Kalhaar Blues & Greens in Ahmedabad.
Kartik recently made history by becoming the youngest player ever to make the cut in the annual Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, played last month in Australia.
Meanwhile, Arjun Dahiya of Haryana carded rounds of 71-70-69-73 to finish runners-up at a total score of 5-under 283 in Category A&B combined.
Sukhman Singh of Noida shot 68-72-74-71 to win the Category A section and finish solo-third at 3-under 285 in the A&B combined category. In total these three were the only players to register under-par totals in the tournament.
In Category C Boys, Danish Verma of Punjab carded rounds of 67-71-74 to win the title by a margin of nine-strokes at a total score of 4-under 212. Chaitanya Pandey of New Delhi shot 70-75-76 to finish runners-up at 5-over 221.
In Category 39, 22 golfers participated, Category B had 29 participants, and Category C featured 11 players, bringing the total number of competitors in the competition to 69.
