34-year-old Brooks Koepka, signalled his return to form with a convincing win at the LIV Golf Singapore event last week as he gets set to defend his US PGA – a major championship title at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky from May 16-19,
Koepka’s rounds of 66-64-68, (total 15-under 198), clinched the LIV title by two strokes Aussies Cameron Smith and Marc Leishman.
Koepka, led by three strokes going into the final round and carded four birdies and a bogey on the way to becoming the first player to win four titles on the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF) -backed LIV Golf League.
Koepka has proved himself as the most dominating player in the majors in the past decade after winning five majors since 2017 – 2 U.S. Open Championships (2017, 2018) and three PGA Championships (2018, 2019, 2023).
Koepka’s resurgence ahead of the PGA Championship bodes well for the LIV Golf camp, which will see 16 players enter the major event. In the previous major, The Masters, 8 out of 13 LIV players made the cut, with 3 finishing in the top-10.
All eyes will be on Koepka and his LIV buddies as they tee it up in Kentucky next week.
