World No 1’s Nelly Korda and Scottie Scheffler continue to shatter records on the LPGA and PGA Tours respectively. Korda scored her 5th consecutive win while Scheffler has 4wins and a 2nd place in his last 5 starts.
Korda’s season earnings of US$ 2.4 million in 6 starts and Scheffler’s US$18.7 million in 10 starts are set to break all records. The highest single season earnings on the PGA Tour is Scheffler’s own US$21 million mark set in 2023, which looks certain to be surpassed.
Korda joins Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam as the only other player since 1978 to win five consecutive titles.
The LPGA Tour itself is breaking records as total prize money in 2024 has risen to US$116 million, up 69% from the US$ 70 million available in 2023. The men will play for a record US$572 million in 2024 including 39 official events, the majors and the US$ 75 million available in bonus money.
