35-year-old Anirban Lahiri, former PGA Tour player, who recently signed a two-year contract with LIV Golf Invitational is all set to make his return on the Asian Tour with the US$ 1.5mn Indonesian Masters from Dec. 1-4 at Royale Jakarta Golf Club.
Interestingly, this is Lahiri’s first Asian Tour event since the 2019 Hero Indian Open, a co-sanctioned event with the DP World Tour (formerly European Tour). In 2014, Lahiri shot 70-69-64-68 (17-under 271) to win the Indonesian Masters title by a shot over current World No.2 and the 2022 Open Championship winner Cameron Smith of Australia.
With his return, Lahiri, currently ranked 102nd in the world, is expecting to gain a few OWGR points, which the rival LIV Golf Invitational currently lacks.
Other Indians, joining him at the event are – Gaganjeet Bhullar, Karandeep Kochhar, Ajeetesh Sandhu, Rashid Khan, Chikkarangappa S., Viraj Madappa, Aman Raj, Veer Ahlawat, S.S.P. Chawrasia, Honey Baisoya, M Dharma and Udayan Mane.
