Lavanya Jadon, 17, ranked 7th in the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Category A Girls rankings and a recent graduate of Summer Fields School in Gurgaon, finished 10th at the 76th Singapore Open Amateur Championship with rounds of 77-76-76-74 (11-over 303).
Training at DLF, Lavanya represented India at the Japan Women’s Amateur Championship and Women’s Amateur Asia Pacific in 2023. She also finished runner-up at the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour’s 8th leg in Bangalore.
In the Men’s category, Varun Muthappa of Bangalore finished 16th with rounds of 74-81-68-67. Other Indians included Rohit (28th, 6-over), Anant Singh Ahlawat (33rd, 10-over), and Jaash Parekh (39th, 14-over).
India’s lady amateurs and pro golfers continue to outshine the men in all international competitions for the past few years.
