LIV Golf is poised to commence its third season this week at Mayakoba in Mexico, scheduled from Feb. 2-4. The team champions of the 2023 season, Crushers GC, led by Bryson DeChambeau along with teammates Anirban Lahiri, Charles Howell III, and Paul Casey, undoubtedly aim to sustain the high level of performance achieved in their previous season.
LIV Golf, which has lured away several stars from the PGA TOUR, is anticipated to come to a settlement soon with the latter. Just a few weeks ago, former World No.1 Jon Rahm of Spain also signed with LIV and has announced a new team called Legion XIII with the team of PGA TOUR winner Tyrell Hatton and University of Tennessee student, as well as World No.2 amateur, Caleb Surratt.
The LIV Tour has come under some criticism with very late announcements considering the tournament is to be played this week.
The tour will next play in Las Vegas from Feb, 8-10 before heading to Saudi Arabia in March.
In total the tour will see 14 events with purses of US$25 million – 12 regular and individual and team championships starting in Feb. until Nov. 2024.
