Anirban must excel in the final three events to keep his card

Anirban Lahiri, 36, now in his third season on the LIV Golf Tour, finished tied-18th individually at LIV Golf Nashville with rounds of 70-68-69.

Lahiri is currently 27th on the LIV Golf Individual Rankings with the top 24 players automatically retaining playing rights for the next season. Players ranked 25-44 enter an “open zone” and become free agents if not contracted for 2024.

His team, Crushers, led by captain Bryson DeChambeau clinched the season-long overall LIV team title in 2023 and currently lead the 2024 LIV team rankings, but are being chased closely by Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII.

Lahiri can use the three remaining LIV events to move into the top 24 individually and secure his spot automatically for the 2025 LIV season. However, if his Crushers team wins the overall team title again, DeChambeau is likely to keep Lahiri anyway to maintain the team bond. Lahiri previously individually finished 13th in 2023 and 17th in 2022, but this season, despite only two top-10 finishes individually, he has significantly contributed to the Crushers team’s success.

The LIV tour heads to the famous Valderrama course in Andalucia, Spain for the next event from July 12-14, which is just before the (British) Open in Scotland where a number of LIV players will be seen in action.
