Team Crushers GC – from L-R – Anirban Lahiri, Charles Howell III, Bryson DeChambeau & Paul Casey

Anirban Lahiri, the lone Indian star on the LIV Golf circuit, played a pivotal role in securing a 3rd team title of the year for Crushers at LIV Golf Chicago last week. Lahiri’s rounds of 67-71-67 (5-under 205), were good enough to finish 6th individually and give his team a crucial one stroke victory and a slender 8.5 points  lead over Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII team going into the Team finale next week in Dallas.

In the pressure packed final round Crushers’ team captain, the reigning US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau posted a 68, England’s Paul Casey shot 70 with 18 pars—an unprecedented feat in his career—and Charles Howell III, returning from a leg injury, shot a 71.

Going into the final Team event next week,  Crushers currently leads with 208.50 points, while Legion XIII is close behind with 200 points. For Legion XIII to overtake Crushers GC and win, they need to finish 1st or 2nd. Crushers GC can still secure the title with a 2nd place finish if Legion XIII wins or a 3rd place finish if Legion XIII finishes 2nd. If Legion XIII finishes 3rd or lower, Crushers GC can afford to finish 5th or even 6th and still claim the championship title.

Individually, Lahiri has finished 16th in the 2024 LIV Tour rankings, securing his place for the 2025 season—his fourth year on the lucrative tour. Over the year, he delivered four top-10 finishes, with his best being a runner-up finish at LIV Golf Andalucia, where he narrowly missed the title, losing to 2017 Masters champion Sergio Garcia in a playoff.
