Chile’s Joaquín Niemann at the Riyadh Golf Club
The 2025 LIV Golf season has teed off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from February 6-8, marking the league’s first-ever night tournament. The Riyadh Golf Club, known as the “Oasis of the Capital,” will host this unique event under floodlights, offering a fresh twist to the world’s path-breaking league.
New Venue, New Experience
For the past three years, LIV Golf events in Saudi Arabia were hosted at the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club, where Joaquín Niemann secured the individual title last season, and Crushers GC, led by Bryson DeChambeau, claimed the team victory.
This year, however, the league will dock at Riyadh for the first time, introducing a new dynamic with its inaugural night golf tournament.

Debut Players to Watch
Six players from different countries will make their LIV Golf debuts as full-time players in Riyadh:
- Tom McKibbin (Northern Ireland) – Legion XIII
- Yubin Jang (South Korea) – Iron Heads GC
- Luis Masaveu (Spain) – Fireballs GC
- Frederik Kjettrup (Denmark) – Cleeks GC
- Ben Campbell (New Zealand) – RangeGoats GC
- Chieh-po Lee (Chinese Taipei) – Wild Card
Fresh off his 2nd career win at the International Series India last week, USA’s Ollie Schniederjans will make his LIV Golf debut as a reserve player, filling in for injured Phil Mickelson in Riyadh. In December, Schniederjans had earned a full-time spot on The International Series through his play at LIV Golf Promotions – the annual year-end qualifying tournament to earn a spot on the LIV Tour.
Format Update
For 2025, LIV Golf introduces a significant scoring change. All four player scores will count in each round, compared to last season where only the final round considered all four, and the top three scores were counted in the first two rounds. This adjustment is expected to heighten competition and increase pressure on players to deliver consistent performances.
