26-year-old Manu Gandas of Gurgaon, who has earned playing rights on the European Tour because of his No 1 rank on the final 2022 PGTI rankings, missed his 2nd straight cut at the US$ 2mn Singapore Classic after missing out in UAE last week.
Owing to his splendid 2022 season on the PGTI, where he won six times and finished in the top-10 another seven times, on his way to earning a record ₹88 lakhs, Gandas was awarded Playing rights on the European Tour as part of a new deal between the European and Indian tours.
Gandas is now in Thailand for the US$ 2mn Thailand Classic from Feb. 16-19 at Amata Springs CC in Bangkok, Thailand and next week he will be seen in action when the DP World Tour returns to his home course, DLF for the US$2 mn Hero Indian Open from Feb 23-26th.It will take some time for Manu to get comfortable competing on the European Tour, which is a big step up from PGTI where he has played the last 7 years.
