Yashas Chandra, the 27-year-old pro from Mysore, shot 68-67-65 (10-under 200) to finish tied 7th at the US$ 75,000 Laguna Phuket Challenge in Thailand, a 54-hole event jointly sanctioned by the Asian Development Tour and the MENA ( Middle East & North Africa) Tour who have decided to join hands this year.
Yashas who turned pro in 2018 has two top-10s in 2022. He finished fourth at the Glade One Masters in Ahmedabad this March and 10th at the inaugural US$500,000 Delhi GC Open on the Asian Tour.
The other Indian pros who made the cut in Phuket were Kartik Sharma, M Dharma & Ricky Jaswal. Sharma finished tied-33rd , Dharma 39th and Jaswal finished 56th. .
Those who missed the cut set at 1-under 139 were:
Karan Vasudeva – 77-67 (+3)
Chiragh Kumar – 71-74 (+5)
Yuvraj Singh Sandhu – 75-71 (+6)
Rohan Kathuria – 72-75 (+7)
Next week, Indian pros Udayan Mane, Aadil Bedi, Karandeep Kochhar & Chiragh Kumar are expected to play the US$ 75,000 Blue Canyon Classic from May 13-15 also in Phuket.
